Puffco Peak Review: Sleek & Elegant

Puffco Background Info
Puffco Peak, the company that chose the high road. The company was established all the way back in 2013, with a single goal in mind. They wanted to raise the bar for the industry standard of electric dab rigs. Puffco did exactly that, becoming one of if not the largest concentrate vaporizer seller in the industry. The Peak paved the road becoming an award winning smart rig that is still out selling and out performing most of the e rigs on the market today.
Puffco Review

Performance: Is the Puffco Peak worth $300?
Vapor Quality
Being a $300 device I had high expectations going into my first session with this E dab rig. To my surprise the hit was nothing special compared to other devices such as the Focus V Carta & Dr Dabber Switch. It had decently sized clouds along with a nice flavor to them. Nothing really to complain about, it’s what you expect to get out of a mid tier priced device.
Airflow
The airflow on the Puffco Peak is decent. However, it’s not perfect. Third party vendors offer carb caps that improve it ten fold. I tried out the Peak Joystick Carb Cap from spacewalkglass.com and it blew the retail cap out of the water. It’s really one of the best dab rig attachments I’ve ever used. The combination makes the airflow match up well with all the other high end dab rigs.
back to menu ↑Battery: How long is the Peak’s battery life?
The Puffco Peak battery sits at a whopping 1400 mAh. This is quite low for an electronic dab rig of this price tier. The battery is only good for up to 30 dabs while other devices offer two to three times that while having a similar retail price tag. This is one of the main things that turn me away from the Peak.
USB-C Charging
This device comes with micro usb charging. This isn’t exactly preferred, but it’s not a deal breaker because of the battery size. It’s not fast USB-C charging, but there’s not much to charge being a 1400 mAh battery. Either way it works out fine and I’m a happy dabber. I haven’t ever had any issues with the charging on my Puffco Peak device.
back to menu ↑Portability: How portable is the Puffco Peak?

Portability is one the best things about the Peak. Being 7” tall and 2.75” wide, this device will fit anywhere. The company provides you a traveling case with every purchase, and it’s very durable protecting your dab rig everywhere you bring it. This is one of my favorite things about this device to date.

Puffco Peak Features
Haptic Feedback
The Peak offers a somewhat unique haptic feedback system. When using the device, it will vibrate when at certain temperatures, when it’s ready to go, and when it’s done. Most rigs come with this by default, but the Peak’s version is something special.
Led Light Band
The super aesthetically pleasing light band on the Peak shows you battery life and has a heat cycle indicator making day to day use easy. You will always know how many dabs you have left, what heat you’re on, and so forth.
Fast Heat Up Time
Typical torch and nail rigs take over 2 minutes to heat up on average. The Puffco Peak is ready for you in under 20 seconds making it easy to dab on the go, and dab with speed. This is one of the main reasons I prefer the Peak over a traditional Dab Rig.
4 Unique User Heat Settings
All dabbers have their own dabbing preference, and the Peak does a great job at meeting everyone’s liking with their four different heating profiles. Their heat settings range from 450 degrees Fahrenheit all the way to 600 degrees Fahrenheit.

Warranty
Puffco’s warranty is pretty decent from what I’ve experienced with my device’s atomizers. The life span on the Peaks atomizers don’t seem to be that long, and I’ve received some bad atomizers, however the warranty covers that. It’s a process, but it works out great at the end of the day.
Value
With the Peak being priced so high, and having the specs it has, it’s not really the ideal valued package compared to a lot of other rigs on the market. If you want to spend this much, I would strongly recommend upgrading to a Dr Dabber Switch for just an extra $100. Otherwise, if you want to get even more value for less money, we always recommend choosing the Smokeski. It has similar, very comparable specs to the Puffco Peak, but $100 cheaper.
